At these homes, women have been rescued from the streets and have been given everything they need for a healthy stable life - nutritious food, shelter, encouragement, and love.

Fishhook supports multiple homes for widows and one home for men. You can help care for the forgotten throughout the year with your monthly donations.

  • “You can always give without loving, but you can never love without giving.”

    — Amy Carmichael

The home sits on a small plot of land just outside a fishing village in Southern India. The women keep a couple of cows and a flock of chickens to supplement their food supply, and sometimes there are enough milk and eggs to sell at the market.

It is incredible to hear the stories of these precious women who have suffered neglect and abuse and yet are learning to love and trust again.

  • Sahayam” is a Tamil word meaning “Divine Help.” Indeed these women have received divine help, having been rescued from lives of neglect and often abuse.   Now these rescued women are committed to praying daily for India and for the world.

Here in this home destitute and elderly women can live out their days surrounded by those who love and care for them.

  • Thanjam Home is a residence exclusively for elderly men made destitute by various tragedies and abandoned by their families. At any given time, Thanjam is home to five to ten men. They are provided shelter, food, clothing, counseling, medical care, and spiritual guidance. Each of them comes to Thanjam as God leads them. They come from desperate situations in life, but here they find peace, joy and rest.
